On Labor Day, 2022 (9/5/2022) Fr. John Ugobueze, Francisco Agraz, and Ignacio Valdes, M.D., were invited to report on the progress of the project to build a modern, Western model, 130 bed hospital in Southeastern Nigeria. After 12 years, Fr. John’s vision of building a sustainable way to bring medical and mental health care to the poor is about ready to become a reality. The architectural plans are done. The engineering studies are done, the land for the hospital has been donated. The governmental permits have been registered. Now the hardest part is having to raise enough money to pay the contractor to begin laying the foundation for the three-building campus.
